Lawmakers Pressure Regulators to Change Mark-to-Market Rules

The House Financial Services Subcmte. held a hearing evaluating the mark-to-market accounting rules, which requires assets to be priced at current market values. Chairman Kanjorski (D-PA) indicated that Congress might act to change the rules if regulators don’t move more quickly to do so.
