Opening Of UK Supreme Court

On October 1st, Britain opened its doors to a new independent Supreme Court that heard its first full day of cases on October 5th. Queen Elizabeth II attended the official opening ceremony on Friday. U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justices Stephen Breyer and Antonin Scalia were in attendance for the festivities. Following the tour, Lord Phillips and British PM Gordon Brown gave brief remarks to the crowd.
